One idea for our music video is to show past and present through old photographs. The idea was to shoot a scene in the present and then go to a close up in that scene of an old photograph. Zooming closer and closer in until the old photograph turns into that day and where/when/with who that photograph was taken. We would edit it together so it all blended in.Another idea we had to show off the clear difference between present and past was to use the editing technique of changing the saturation. For the "past" scenes we would edit them to be black and white. We thought about using black and white because in the past they didn't have colour televisions etc and people always associate black and white with the past. For the "present" scenes we would use normal lighting and colour to reflect everyday life nowadays.
To make this video in the style of Lady Gaga we have thought about buying some wigs to compliment her individual style of hair. Also makeup plays a big part in her music videos so we would have to incorporate this as well.

For the first few shots and the intro music to the song "brown eyes" i was thinking that we could use a unique style of editing. The idea is to take around four different photographs of the "main girl" in four different positions in a room. Her head would be down with her face no showing to show she is sad and it would be a colour/present time scene. We would then edit each photograph together to make a sort of slide show and then cut to a close up to show her face. Her face would be sad and she would be crying but, in the style of lady gaga, it would be abstract and we would show this emotion through her makeup. They girl would then sing to the camera when they lyrics start. I found the image below that i really love...
I feel it is important to look at the lyrics of the song and understand them so we can tell a story through the music video. The song title is called "brown eyes" and from the lyrics we can tell the song was called this because of the man in the song has brown eyes. Instead of using a man in all the scenes when the lyrics are about him i thought we could film an extreme close up of a brown eye to represent him. This is a more abstract way of showing the man and more to the style of lady gaga.

Throughout the genre of pop there are dancing scenes of people doing dance routines. This also comes across in Lady Gaga's music videos a lot. Therefore i think that we should make one as well to show the genre of pop. We were thinking that we could use the dance studio and film it from an aerial shot. However, as this is a slow love song, the dance should be ballet or contemporary slow to stay fitting in with the feeling of the song/music video. It should also be a singular dance routine to show that the "man with the brown eyes" is not there anymore.

As we thought about focusing on dividing past and present times, we thought we could do this even more by styling the scene and model/s in a 1950's look. This would include dark red lips, beauty spots and a classic hair style. This could be presented in the style of Marlyin Monroe as she had this style in her prime. This would show a clear sense of time period difference.
The lyrics are talking about "walking away" quite a bit so i was thinking of a scene which Incorporated this. Maybe some low angled shots of someone walking away which just shows the bottom of the legs and shoes.
At the end of the song, we thought that she could open a letter and find out that her lover has died. Doing this will tell the audience that the music video has ended. We could also do this by fading out the last scene into darkness.
